Margie Reins Smith
Comedy monologue
1 either
Fast, funny, and full of zing! This monologue dives into the wild world of acronyms, abbreviations, and generational quirks. With sharp wit and rapid-fire laughs, it’s a perfect showcase for senior performers who love clever wordplay and snappy delivery.
From the Playwright
After I retired, I wrote a weekly blog. One of the entries was about all of the “shortcuts” I didn’t recognize. And while I sometimes have to look up the ones I don’t recognize, they do save space.
About the Playwright
I’ve always loved writing. In fifth grade I wrote a weekly cliff‑hanger story that my teacher let me read to the class. After earning an MA in English and a teaching certificate, I taught middle‑school English for three years before leaving to raise my three daughters. Later, after auditing journalism courses, I worked for a community weekly as a reporter, photographer, features writer, features editor, and eventually assistant editor, while also freelancing for newspapers and magazines. Now retired, I write a monthly humorous personal essay for the paper’s senior page.
