90 minute comedy
2 men, 6 women
Edna, a spry retiree, has been walking in a fog with too much time on her hands ever since her husband of 43 years passed away. Her life has been quiet, after marrying the first man she ever kissed. While moving to Sunset Village, where there’s always some activity going on, seemed like a good idea, the hedonistic culture is quite a shock. Life in Sunset Village is extravagant, and more than often lascivious. But between the pole-dancing classes, fencing, bee keeping, painting, open relationships, drug use and other adult ‘summer camp’ activities, Edna finds a way to “buck up buttercup” and not let the world pass her by. In a way that works for her.
This off-Broadway comedic odyssey from playwright Michael Presley Bobbitt is as life-affirming and heartfelt as it is outrageous. Sunset Village: Go Out With a Bang!
