Laura began the first act of her life in Birmingham, Alabama where she attended UAB, University of Alabama, got married, had kids, got divorced and then got remarried. And she didn’t write a single play.
The second act began when she and her husband moved to South Carolina and she became involved with the theatre at the ripe old age of 40. An obsession was born.
The third act began when she moved back to Alabama and the Gulf Coast and where she continues to “Write at the Beach.” She specializes in Southern comedy and has had over a 100 productions throughout the United States. She is the playwright in residence for her local community theatre, and volunteers for the International Center for Women Playwrights. Laura has 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
