James Keller
less than 10 minute comedy
3 either
Three people argue over which identical chair truly belongs to them, and the debate quickly turns into a hilarious battle of logic and memory. What starts as a simple claim becomes a tangle of class schedules, missed appointments, and literary references. The conversation leaps from Shakespeare to thrones and crowns, with each character determined to prove their point. Just when they seem ready to settle the matter, a regal twist adds an unexpected flourish. This clever comedy gives actors witty exchanges, playful rivalry, and a finale that leaves everyone laughing.

From the Playwright:
While teaching seniors, I noticed something funny: just like school kids, they were fiercely attached to their favorite seats. That observation inspired That’s My Chair, a playful look at how old habits stick with us long after the classroom days are over. The squabble over seating grows into a debate that even touches on the British monarchy and its famous “Chair.” It turns out, whether it’s a throne or a folding chair, people love to claim their spot. Some things never change—and that’s what makes it so much fun.
