10 minute comedy
1 man, 4 women, 2 either, plus extras
While waiting in line for a free movie screening, Phyllis, a seasoned screening regular, strikes up a conversation with Janice, a timid newcomer who is polite to a fault. Phyllis explains how these free screenings work: the line is long, the seats matter, and nothing is guaranteed. When bold line‑cutters appear and a sharp‑tongued film snob shows up late with his over‑burdened, well‑meaning wife, the crowd’s politeness starts to crack. Adding to their frustration, a calm, no‑nonsense theater staffer enforces the rules about passes, food, drinks, and capacity with stunning indifference to line cutting. The movie may be a lost cause, but Janice and Phyllis walk away with a new friendship and the small comfort of knowing the jerks are stuck in the front row.
