Being known as ‘the pretty one’ is more than just a name. It’s a title. Your calling card. Over time it becomes your identity. But what happens when the heads stop turning and you are just another face in the crowd? A woman of once great beauty seeks revenge for this injustice by threatening to destroy paintings in a museum exhibit. Can she find worth beyond her appearance in time?
A thought-provoking play that highlights the complexities of aging and self-perception.
From the playwright:
“My purpose in writing this play was to challenge our obsession with beauty and how women have always been judged by the way they look. What happens to women, who have based their identity on their looks, when they age? Are they able to see beyond the reflection in the mirror?”
From a Senior Theatre director:
“This is an interesting premise and well-written play with solid dialogue.”
