Mark Rigney
10 minute comedy
2 women
About the play: Two cranky sisters, Jessie Mae and Martha Mae, sit in rocking chairs on their dilapidated front porch, where they rock in tandem, always––until they disagree, which is often. On this inordinately hot March morning, the sisters debate the merits of attending a friend’s annual wildflower walk. Since neither Jessie Mae nor Martha Mae are much good at staying on topic, this proves to be both comic and time-consuming. In the end, predicting wildflower disaster, they elect to attend a lecture at the library, instead––but not without their trusty rifle, just in case they don’t think too highly of the speaker.
