Description
Joni Hilton
1 hour comedy
1-6 women, or up to any number of women
Through a lively mix of stories, quick bits, and playful audience moments, the show keeps building one idea on top of the next, gently poking holes in everything we’ve been told about “fixing” ourselves. The performers trade experiences, try out ridiculous solutions, and find the humor in situations that feel all too familiar—especially when food, fashion, and good intentions collide.
Just when it seems like it might stay in full commentary mode, the tone softens and something more thoughtful comes through: who decided any of these rules mattered so much in the first place? By the end, it’s less about frustration and more about perspective, inviting the audience to relax a little and rethink what really deserves attention.
Along the way, there’s plenty of personality and warmth, including chances to involve the audience and even create over-the-top treats right on stage. Light, engaging, and easy to connect with, this show delivers exactly what its title promises: a very funny look at something many people recognize, and a reminder not to take it all so seriously.
A script for all women and anyone who has ever loved one. A hysterical and truthful view of what we fear most and question most often. We laughed all the way through our rehearsals and the audience howled! — Gina B, Managing Director
“Does This Show Make My Butt Look Fat?” was a bit on a phenomenon at our theatre. Our cast of 12 (all aged 55 and up) not only created a wonderful and hysterical production but they formed friendships that will last a lifetime. Of the 12, seven were doing their first show with our organization. Five of those seven were doing their first show EVER. The production is our most attended and most profitable second season show to date. Our audience laughed with delight at all four performances (and enjoyed the cookies afterwards). The production was so loved that we were asked to reunite and do it at the county fair’s senior program. Not only did this production entertain our audience, it brought together a group of theatre lovers who created a family. Thank you, ArtAge, for providing us that opportunity.
