Description
Jo Rake
12 minute comedy
3 women
About the play: Stirring up a love potion seems simple enough. But when your eye of newt expired back in 1986, and your sisters are no help, sometimes the best magic is a carefully dropped hint.
About the playwright: Jo Rake’s first theatre role was as Mary in a first grade Nativity play. More interested in singing and dance, it took many years before Jo found her way back to the stage but she has been a theatre devotee ever since, both on the stage as an actor and behind the scenes as director, stage manager, costumer, board member and performance judge. Jo is a founding member of a Senior Theatre company that tours performances to senior residences and living centers. She began writing plays for the company using the antics of her family and neighbors as well as just her imagination as inspiration. In ‘real life.’ Jo is a mostly retired CPA.
Do You Believe in Magick? was first performed by The Hourglass Players at The Atria at the Arboretum in Austin, TX.
