Edna and Susan, two longtime friends meet at a restaurant. Instead of ordering, they interrogate each other’s every possible menu choice as if the wrong entrée could summon instant doom. Between sodium panic, gluten paranoia, and a surprise theological debate about bacon sending you to hell, things escalate as the poor waiter struggles to keep up with their endless list of restrictions. When the women realize they’ve talked themselves out of every menu item, the waiter gently suggests soup and salad. The ladies happily agree—so long as they can reward themselves with a mountain of dessert and pretend that was the plan all along.
