In the South, casseroles aren’t just food—they’re part of the grieving ritual. They arrive at the door like edible condolences, though many, bless their hearts, are truly awful. In
Bad Casserole, two older women show up to comfort their friend who just lost her husband with a casserole so spectacularly bad it deserves its own warning label. And that’s just the beginning! They also grain alcohol and a whole lot of hard-earned wisdom. What unfolds is a funny, tender look at friendship, loss, and the strange ways we try to help each other heal.

From the Playwright:
While serving as a playwright in residence at a local community theatre, I participated in a 24-hour play writing festival. My prompt was a simple casserole dish, and three talented actresses to bring my idea to life. From those humble beginnings, Bad Casserole was born.
