In McCallen, the city that never sleeps, where crime never takes a holiday, one man fights the forces of evil; fights for the common man; and even harder for the common woman…Mike ‘Hard As’ Nails. A romantic to the core, Mike avoids cases involving marital problems. But when Joy enters his office, her powers of persuasion are extraordinary. Her husband, Big Buck Buchanan, says he goes to bingo every Wednesday, but she’s seen the visa bills. Mike takes her case. All he has to do is snap a photo of Buck “in the act” with the other woman. It’s his next client who’ll be paying Mike the really big bucks.

As a private eye, Mike has seen some pretty sleazy characters in his day but none as bad as Louie ‘the Louse’ Lozano, bug exterminator and owner of the House of Pestitution. Louie feels his marriage is falling apart so he hires Mike to find out what his wife wants in a man.
