Kelly DuMar
10 minute drama
1 man, 1 woman
In a backyard strewn with images after a storm, a woman rakes the photos like fallen leaves. A man enters, and together they sift through memories, regrets, and unresolved emotions. He pleads with her to let him take the rake, to help clean up the mess they’ve made together, but she resists, holding onto the rake as if it were the last thread of control. Through lyrical dialogue and symbolic gestures, the play explores themes of love, loss, forgiveness, and the passage of time. The photographs become metaphors for moments that cannot be reclaimed, and the wind, ever present, serves as a reminder of impermanence and the fragility of connection.
A poetic, beautifully crafted piece, a dance of words and emotions, and a truly rewarding experience for seasoned actors to bring to life.
