About the Playwright:
Dana Hall is an accomplished playwright, winning numerous awards and recognition for her outstanding works. In addition to being a playwright, she’s an actor, and mental health therapist whose work explores internal conflict, the special
moments in relationships, and the evolving nature of love. As a therapist specializing in trauma and mood management, Dana is drawn to stories of resilience, the complexities of human emotion, and how love deepens over time—themes that lie at the heart of Always.
From the Playwright:
I dreamt these characters so vividly, as if they had been waiting for someone to tell their story. When I woke up, I couldn’t shake the feeling that they were real—two lovers bound by time, devotion, and the quiet moments that define a lifetime
together. I felt less like a writer and more like a vessel through which their story came to life.
Always is about the kind of love that endures, even in the face of uncertainty. It explores the beauty of memory, the weight of time, and how love evolves from passion to partnership, from excitement to deep, unwavering commitment. These themes resonate deeply because they mirror our own experiences—how we hold onto love, how we navigate challenges, and how, in the end, what matters most are the simple, everyday moments.
Many audiences have connected with this story, often sharing how it reminds them of their own parents, grandparents, or lifelong partners. It’s moving because it’s universal—the kind of love we all hope for, the kind of love we recognize in those closest to us. This play, like much of my work, reflects on the unspoken moments, quiet struggles, and enduring connections that define relationships.
