Penny Petersen
90 minute comedy
2 men, 5 women, 1 female voice
Four sorority sisters from the University of Nebraska get together every 10 years for a week of fun and frolic in Arizona. Though they’re supposed to be sunbathing, swimming and playing bridge, the gathering doesn’t go as planned. Friendships are tested with flirtatious boyfriends, a séance, and a football coach who gets caught in alcohol’s web. In the end, the women grow stronger and friendship prevails. This well-written show is full of action, easy to stage, and very popular everywhere it’s been performed.

About the playwright: Penny Petersen has loved theatre since her grandmother took her, at age 6, to see the Rockettes and later the opera. That did it–an addiction for life. She’s been directing plays and teaching theatre for 52 years. For 25 of those, she managed a theatre program at a community college while doing freelance directing and writing plays. She also wrote The Good Years: The Musical, which also comes as a straight play, The Good Years, with middle-aged daughters who try to fix up their parents but only make a big mess of things.
