Joan Lucas founded Mt. Shasta Senior Theatre in 2006. Then and now, it is a course offered through the College of the Siskiyous Community Education program. Joan’s vision was to give those who were older an opportunity to spread their wings again or perhaps for the first time and to bring entertainment to Siskiyou County, California.

The summer of 2011 was pivotal for the group, when DeLeon Grabowski, who had been an actor and Assistant to the Director since the beginning, was promoted to Instructor and Director.

Over the years, the group has enjoyed performing in schools, nursing homes, and at special events. They have staged more than 50 shows in just about every corner of Northern California.

With a motto of, “If it isn’t fun, we won’t do it,” the company continues to grow. Today, they are led by Becky Jo Adams.
