The Alliance Stage Company is a Senior Theatre group based in New York City. Their performances include skits, musical comedy, improv, readers theatre, and plays inspired by the life stories of company members.
Since 2009, the Alliance Stage Company has been under the direction of Cory Michael Herman. A talented Group!
Members of the Alliance Stage Company have appeared on television and film, documentaries, Off-Off Broadway plays, and industrials. In addition to acting, members are also playwrights, puppeteers, dressers, and ushers. They have applied their theatrical training off-stage at public meetings and as vocal leaders in their communities.
Virtual Programming:
The pandemic not only didn’t stop the activities of the Alliance Stage Company, quarantine spurred them to launch several online initiatives. At first, the transition presented some technical challenges, foremost of which was making sure everyone had the necessary equipment and skills to login. Soon, they were up and running, with online classes, performances, and public service announcements. In addition, the group launched social media pages, and participated in remote field trips. Though the Alliance Stage Company has returned to meeting in person, they continue to engage remote and home-bound members through hybrid rehearsals and performances!
Drama classes are offered weekly for adults 60 and older at Educational Alliance, a 130-year-old organization offering transformational services and high-quality, multi-generational programs in community centers on Manhattan’s Lower East Side and in East Village.
