Readers Theatre Like You’ve Never Seen… Or HEARD… Before!
It’s the 1870’s and Miss Daisy Fontaine, a young and beautiful New York socialite, is about to marry the man of her dreams. However, as the wedding approaches she gets news that her brother has lost his wife to the fever. He’s now faced with his raising three small children alone, in the Western frontier. She heads west to help, leaving behind the man she loves, the big city, her wealth, and status. Like any good Wild West drama, there are good guys and bad guys. But in this one, true love is the real winner.
How it works:
1. Play the movie, either a DVD or an MP4 file.
2. First you’ll see a short countdown, then music plays, followed by the actors’ lines which appear on the screen, whether it is a computer, TV, or a projection.
3. Welcome to a movie that is simply a script with music and sound effects. To help actors keep the right pace, the lines change color as the movie plays.
4. Music and sound effects come in, right on cue.
The result:
A unique and fun theatre experience, useful for classes, performances, meetings, or parties! It’s the easiest way to create an old-time radio drama.

“Readers Theatre Karaoke” added a whole new dimension to our Senior Theatre program. The seniors loved seeing their lines on the screen and they picked up the format really quickly. The sound effects made the show extra fun! I love “Readers Theatre Karaoke!” — S. Barley, Life Enrichment Director
