Description
Jo Rake
11 minute comedy
1 man, 1 woman
About the play: Jay, a widower, realizes that he is ready to meet someone new. Amanda is perfectly happy with her single life–or is she? An under-five soccer game seems an odd place to find a companion, but maybe the grandkids are the key.
About the playwright: Jo Rake’s first theatre role was as Mary in a first grade Nativity play. More interested in singing and dance, it took many years before Jo found her way back to the stage but she has been a theatre devotee ever since, both on the stage as an actor and behind the scenes as director, stage manager, costumer, board member and performance judge. Jo is a founding member of a Senior Theatre company that tours performances to senior residences and living centers. She began writing plays for the company using the antics of her family and neighbors as well as just her imagination as inspiration. In ‘real life.’ Jo is a mostly retired CPA.
G-O-A-L! was first performed by The Hourglass Players at Wellspring United Methodist Church in Georgetown, TX and has been performed many times to senior residences and living centers.
