Columbus Avenue Readers Theatre looks at life with humor!

Bonnie's Column: Why do you do
Senior Theatre?

We've been asking customers to tell us, "Why do you do Senior Theatre?" One of the first responses came from Morrie Tubergen, the director of Columbus Avenue Readers Theatre. He said, "Our Senior Theatre loves to perform at retirement communities because of the 'boomerang effect.' We give laughter and receive enthusiastic heartfelt response in return."

For me, I love theatre and want older adults to love it also! So, I lead a team of staff members, playwrights, and directors, to help groups present shows that are stimulating, yet fun. Most of all, I want the process of finding materials to be simple and the delivery to be easy, with prompt and personalized service. When I hear about how we have helped to create even one successful Senior Theatre experience, I am happy. When I realize the many we have impacted, I am fulfilled!

So, why do you do Senior Theatre? Send us an email and tell us know why you spend your time and effort doing Senior Theatre.

Yours in Theatre,

Bonnie Vorenberg, ArtAge President

Senior Theatre featured in
GetOld article

We were honored to have our work and that of an older playwright, Arthur Keyser, featured in a recent article on Pfizer's GetOld. It will inspire more older adults to write a play--so we can publish it!

Like so many of our plays, Arthur Keyser's are funny with modern and feisty characters in up-to-date plots. Take a look at his book, Short Plays by the Dozen.
