Why I Love Readers Theatre

The first time I saw a Readers Theatre performance, I was blown away. I'm not sure what I was expecting, exactly, but to this day, I remember how the actors' vocal variety brought the characters to life and moved the plot at a brisk clip. This, with all actors seated and reading their scripts! I was amazed. It was everything I know and love about theatre.

I was excited to realize that actors are more likely to take part in drama when they're not worried about memorizing lines. Or for some, not worried about having to move on stage. With Readers Theatre, more actors are able to feel the adrenaline of preparing for a show, the thrill of applause, and the addictive joy of performing for an audience.

Recognizing the benefits of Readers Theatre for older actors, we added many scripts that would work well in this format. Almost all of our plays, from short sketches to 3-act musicals, have been staged as Readers Theatre.

If you haven’t tried Readers Theatre, now is the time to take the leap. Here are a few of the ways we can help you!

With Readers Theatre, a whole world of theatre opens up to you!

Yours in Theatre,
