The Coastal Carolina Senior Theatre began the Travelers as an outreach program to nursing homes, senior centers, assisted living, and retirement facilities. It was so successful that they decided to keep it operating on a permanent basis.
What they do: The company recreates Old Time Radio shows from the 1930’s to early 1950’s. The productions in the repertoire are pulled from the great ones of the time: The Great Gildersleeve, Lights Out, Suspense, Baby Snooks and the classic War of the Worlds.
Here are just two comments of the many they receive from enthusiastic audience members:
“Thank you to the Travelers Old Time Radio Actors for their great show at several assisted living homes. We really enjoyed the laughter and memories brightening our holidays.”
“I would like to say what a great Halloween evening show we saw at the Bluffton Historical Preservation Society. They did the “War of the Worlds” from the porch of the Heyward House. The historical society should get a big thank you for doing things like this for the town.
They enjoy performing and the audiences really love their shows.
