The Seasoned Performers, based in Birmingham, Alabama, tour one-act plays and reading programs to audiences of seniors, adults and children in over 100 community sites each year. Since l984 this active group of senior volunteer actors has been producing original material, providing performance opportunities for older adults, and bringing live theatre to special audiences, reaching sites in up to ten Alabama counties each year.

The Seasoned Performers has a new Executive Director, Barbara Sloan. Ellise Mayor continues as Artistic Director while founder and former Executive Director, Martha Haarbauer, moves into the newly created position of Readers Coordinator.
They have added a new performing branch of The Seasoned Performers called The Salon Readers. This group consists of the most experienced senior performers in Birmingham who offer evening and Sunday afternoon salon performances, and concert readings of plays.
