The Encore Players of Grosse Pointe Theatre is excited to be starting their 3rd year. After exploring the many Senior Theatre options at several national AACT/Fests, they decided to create a company for their more senior and experienced members. The Grosse Pointe Theatre Board of Directors enthusiastically supported the idea and the company was up and running with 25 members, both men and women, signed on.
The group serves as an outreach project for the Grosse Pointe Theatre. They provide entertainment to a wide variety of community groups and have performed for luncheons, dinners, and other gatherings, and in every venue imaginable.
The Encore players use readers theatre to present light, fun pieces--nothing too heavy. The company has accumulated a nice mix of pieces appealing to every age range, as well as those appropriate for several holidays such as Christmas, Valentines Day, and many others. They can present shows that will meet any group’s needs.
During introductions, the Encore Players always highlight the theatre’s regular season and distribute brochures. It’s been a nice way to share information about the many performances at the Grosse Pointe Theatre. While there is no charge, the Encore Players gratefully accept all honorarium.
