Bonnie's Column: MARKETING YOUR SENIOR THEATRE: Is it time to redesign your logo?

Coastal Carolina Senior Theatre's New Logo
|
Last year, I presented a two-day workshop for the Coastal Carolina Senior Theatre. One of the topics was how to market a Senior Theatre company. Our discussion focused on a group's collateral materials which includes brochures, newsletters, and business cards. With mature customers, your image should be easily read and understood.
Part of our discussion was to evaluate the company's logo and how it could be improved. The one they were using was a line drawing that was difficult to see with aging eyes. It didn't convey the mission of the company which tours throughout their area. It didn't convey professionalism or passion.
This fall, the Coastal Carolina Senior Theatre went through a design process and came up with the new one, below. Note the color, energy and professionalism. They attach it to their news releases, e-newsletters and on all their media contact.
Is it time for your to look at your logo with a critical eye? Should you redesign it?

A Bag Full of Miracles, the newest Senior Theatre musical comedy, is being staged around the country. The show is light and lively with a real Broadway sound. The plot is a touching story filled with all the good and evil characters that make Broadway successful. It features plenty of senior roles and comes with recorded music to make learning and performing the songs into an easy process. It is now available in a complete production kit or you can pay royalties/licensing like you do with other plays. Contact us for a free perusal or visit http://www.seniortheatre.com/html/musicals.html for more information.
At Half Time is a new short play featuring an over-60 women's basketball team. You meet the group at half time when the team is losing badly to a group of nuns who can't talk and play in long skirts. The coach tries to energize his team into action. It's a fun, quick moving, active script. The play has just had its first production-and received a standing ovation!
Holiday Plays are special so we've collected some extra ones. Some are short and easy so you can perform them this year.
And--We also have added scripts with plenty of female roles including Ladies at Poker and Dinner Plans, and the delightful monologues, Housecleaning.
