If you've ever thought of entering a pageant, now's the time. Known for sophistication and elegance, the United Nation Pageant Elite Division, is the crowning event for women 50+. The 2008 contest will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah from July 21-27. Entry deadline is May 31, 2008. The purpose of the contest is to empower women over 50 to develop and use their strength and inner qualities to positively impact people throughout the world. To enter the contest you can be single, divorced, widowed, or married. United Nation delegates are judged on interview, physical fitness, and wellness. The pageant believes that taking pride in one's body is more important than its actual shape or size. Wellness in mind, body and spirit are key elements of the fitness competition. United Nation contestants compete in sports wear and evening gown to highlight poise and grace. Audition for the Palm Springs Follies
|

The Follies in Action!
|
The Fabulous Palm Springs Follies is seeking male and female dancers and singers (who must have strong dance background) who are at least 55 years of age or older. The Follies, a major Broadway-scale production, is in its 17th grand season at the historic Plaza Theatre. The Show features glamorous, showgirl wardrobe; fabulous scenery; and exciting choreography by Joan Palethorpe and Carri Burbank Glen. The season runs from mid August through May. Nevada wages are paid and accommodations are provided. The Audition dates are Wednesday, May 21st and Thursday, May 22nd, 2008. Call backs will be on the 22nd and 23rd. Singer auditions are by appointment only and are scheduled from 11am to 12pm. Dancer auditions (open call) begin at 1pm. Audition Location: The historical Plaza Theatre, 128 S. Senior Theatre USA Festival: Mark your calendars!
|
Playwrights are invited to participate in a playwriting workshop at the Senior Theatre Festival, to be coordinated by Alan Woods of Ohio State's Lawrence and Lee Theatre Research Institute and playwrights Stuart Harris and Susan-Sojourna Collier. Bonnie Vorenberg of ArtAge Publications will also be participating, bringing her expertise developed over years of working with senior theatre. Playwrights will participate in the writing workshop each day of the Festival, developing new work for America's rapidly-expanding population of theatre companies devoted to exploring issues of aging. Playwrights are also encouraged to send scripts already completed or in progress for reading and developing during the workshop. Hard copies of scenes or complete scripts should be sent to Alan Woods at the address below and must arrive by Monday, June 2nd. No email copies, please. Send to:
